The Subconscious Surrender of Free Expression

Shadowy Face

Members of the Illinois state Legislature proposed a bill last week that would require citizens to let state police investigate their social media accounts before being allowed to legally purchase firearms. Let that sink in: Your private conversations, thoughts and correspondence with friends and family, your constitutionally protected free expression, would be searched, documented, and used to prevent you from accessing your Second Amendment rights.

All in the name of gun safety.

So they say.

But don't be fooled.

The mere idea of warrantless search and seizure of the private social media accounts of prospective gun owners reveals much more than a ploy to add obstacles around the Second Amendment. As a matter of fact, it exposes the nefarious plans of the Disarm America Movement, the plans to control the opinions, the expressions, and the constitutionally protected thoughts of American citizens.

Anti-gun advocates will push back, looking aghast, saying that they're only interested in information that would identify unqualified applicants, which begs the question:

What sort of information would make someone unqualified to own a firearm?

What sort of information would make someone unqualified to own a firearm?

Surely, blatant threats of violence would be grounds for disqualification, as would signs of gang and terrorist affiliation. Private photos displaying the presence of drugs or alcohol could be cause for concern. But beyond the seemingly obvious, the criteria are a mystery.

And they're left that way by design.

The ambiguity is part of the Disarmament Party's strategy, and the lack of detail in their proposals is devised to trap and control you, to manipulate and confine you. These anti-freedom politicians allow the devil to lie deep within the details so they can sway your thoughts and push disarmament as quickly and as effortlessly as possible. They'd have you second guess every move, every post, every share and every comment you leave online. They'd have you consider the potential consequences of each individual word, fearing that you'd make an incorrect judgement and land yourself on the "No Buy" list, never to leave it again.

It's no secret that the likes of the Mainstream Media and the movement they shill for consider the NRA, NRA members and gun owners as terrorists. So who's to say that those photos from NRA Annual Meetings wouldn't be seen as disqualifying and labeled as terrorist activity? Or how about the post you shared supporting police? Or the video from "Cam & Company" you retweeted the other day? Would his critical opinions of Sen. Kamala Harris be cloaked in allegations of racism and sexism?

Initiatives like these would serve no other purpose than to pave the way for the ultimate goal: complete disarmament.

Initiatives like these would serve no other purpose than to pave the way for the ultimate goal: complete disarmament.

We cannot allow this tyrannical measure to be made law. The moment you delete a pro-gun tweet because you're afraid you'll be disqualified from gun ownership, they've won. The moment you unfollow pro-2A groups on Twitter and unfriend your neighbor, who's an NRA Life member, they've won. The moment you hesitate to renew your NRA membership, they've gotten inside your head, they've controlled your thoughts, and they have destroyed your free means of expression. They've taken from you the soul of what you stand for and have replaced it with fear and submission.

It's up to us, the millions of proud NRA members and American patriots, to make a stand and choose to defend freedom in the face of the Disarm America Movement's most brazen display of its true intentions yet.
