Meet and Greet with Candidate for Marion CountySheriff

Billy Woods

As a 5th generation Marion County resident I have a deep grass roots understanding of the needs of this county. It is time for an infusion of new ideas, eliminating the internal politics and supporting the men and women at the Sheriff's Office who are on the front lines serving our community.

I graduated High School from Ocala Christian Academy in 1986. I went on to attend college from 1986 to 1989 at Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC. I finished my degree at Columbia Southern University and obtained my Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice Administration (Summa Cum Laude). Looking to the future, I ensured that my education had two foundations. First was a detailed understanding of Criminal Justice Administration and second were the fundamentals of Business Management. As Sheriff you are the C.E.O. of a large corporation and a business mindset is essential.
