Shooters World, which operates a store and gun range in Tampa, is set to build a golf-cart accessible facility here in Florida's Friendliest Hometown. Shooters World offers training specifically tailored for women. The Villages Straight Shooters club takes monthly bus trips to the Shooters World facility in Tampa. When Villagers started talking about residents' enthusiasm for target shooting and personal protection, Shooters World General Manager Bruce Kitzis became interested in an opportunity here. Though he isn't ready just yet to disclose the location in The Villages, he confirmed the store and range will be located in the Sumter County section. Floridians' desire for personal safety and protection has resulted in strong growth for Shooters World which is also working on a new location in Orlando. "People are more and more concerned about safety," said Kitzis. Women in particular are showing those concerns. Women are the fastest-growing demographic for the business.
